HART 511 Renaissance Art Select Term:
This course aims to enable an understanding of the modes of visuality of Renaissance art through analyses of the works of prominent artists of the period, such as Giotto, Masaccio, Piero della Francesca, Botticelli, Michelangelo Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Titian and Tintoretto. The art of the Renaissance will be considered in relation to Renaissance culture at large, social and political. The significance of Renaissance modes of visuality since Renaissance culture will also be assessed.
